Elbaite (Tourmaline) With quartz and Lepidolite. This unusual specimen comes from the Urubu mine, Itinga, Minas Gerias, Brazil. It features a bright lime-green Elbaite crystal topped with a Quartz crystal. The quartz crystal is coated with a thin layer of white matrix. There is a mass appendage of Lepidolite crystals attached to one side of the host Elbaite crystal. There are two smaller Elbaite crystals tucked in amid the hexagonal Lepidolite crystals. Each hexagonal Lepidolite crystal is composed of many smaller parallel crystals. There is a small area of damage on one side of the main crystal. Damage is not noticable as it appears to be a part of the crystal structure. A very interesting and unique specimen. Comes mounted on a 1 1/4" acryllic square. Dimensions- 1 3/4" Tall x 1" Wide.
